First Impressions: EcoSlay | Product Review

Hello, lovelies! I am excited to share with you my first impressions of a  Black-owned brand called Ecoslay. Ecoslay was founded in 2015 and is 100% homemade in Adria's kitchen. Ecoslay prides itself on being a Black-owned hair care business that cares about providing the best products for your hair and ensuring that those products are suitable for the environment.

Due to these products being true to containing wholesome ingredients, you should try this brand; glad they have a shelf life, and most of their products require refrigeration to stay fresh. I acquired the Jello Shot Bundle that retails for USD 55. Ecoslay is currently having a sale on its website, and you can use Quadpay to pay in increments of four if you don't have all of the money to shell out in one bulk. Without further ado, let's get into this review!

Peppermint Schnapps Shampoo

The Peppermint Schnapps shampoo smells fantastic. The smell is the first thing I noticed when I used this. When I applied this shampoo to my hair, I was initially confused because it wasn't foaming up like the other shampoos I use. It does foam up a little, but not too much. It cleansed my scalp without stripping my hair of its natural oils, and I love that it has tea tree oil because it gives that tingly feeling while you're using it. This product has a shelf life of 9 months and comes in an 8oz bottle.

Since I had refrigerated the shampoo before using it, the combonation of the tea tree and the cooling feeling really made my wash day feel relaxing. It's hard for a shampoo to impress me too much because its job is literally just to clean your scalp. But this one is definitely going on my favorites list. My scalp feels so refreshed, and that is something that I don't usually get with shampoos (even though they did their job). The ingredients in this shampoo do play a part in this being a fantastic product to use. Not only is it good for your hair, but for the environment too.

Banana Cream Deep Conditioner

The Banana Cream deep conditioner was the most impressive out of the three that I tried. If you have been reading my blogs or watching my YouTube videos, you know I am a big fan of a good conditioner. This product has a shelf life of 9 months and comes in a 16oz jar. The fact that this jar has so much effect and I barely made a dent is astounding to me. Having a deep conditioner that I know will last me for a while definitely wins points in my book.

I applied this product in sections while detangling. I let this stay on my hair for about 30-45 minutes. My hair was so soft after rinsing this out. It has a subtle smell, and the ingredients in this area are wholesome, as in one of those videos where a husky is talking to its owner. I believe that this product is worth the price, especially if you will be deep conditioning every time you wash like I do.

Jello Shot

I am a gel girl, and I was most excited to try this product after watching NaturalReign; Jalen Mitchell, try this on her YouTube channel. I did not get any leave-ins from Ecoslay, so I did have to apply a separate leave-in conditioner on my hair before applying this gel. What attracted me to the Jello Shot was that it is advertised to have a stronghold. In this heat, HONTEA, I need that! The smell of this product threw me off, it didn't smell bad pursue, but it has a strange smell that did linger while my hair was drying.

This product has to be applied to soaking wet hair, so I did spray my hair with a water bottle before applying my leave-in and then went in with the gel. Applying this was a little difficult because this gel doesn't seem very moisturizing or like a product that you can use to detangle your hair. This gel is very thick, like THICC. And I think that I could've had an easier time applying this if I had done so in the shower with my hair dripping like the instructions said. I don't think the spray bottle did much to get my hair soaked enough to apply this. This product is 12 oz and has a shelf life of 9 months. I am not that impressed with this gel, but it is the first impression. Who knows how I'll feel come round 2!
