Everything You Need to Know about Miche Beauty

Hello lovelies, today I will tell you everything you need to know about Miche Beauty products. Miche Beauty is a natural haircare brand founded in 2016 by Michelle Ballard. The products are branded to be developed with a philosophy of simple handcrafted beauty.

I first discovered Miche Beauty on the explore page on Instagram. I started following the brand but hadn't leaped to buy the products and give them a try. When I discovered Miche, I was a broke college student who definitely could not spend $18 on one product; I need to watch a few reviews before diving into something new.

Now that I am in a semi-better place financially, I finally tried the product that was getting tons of hype on my TL.I purchased the Intense Moisture Full Collection for $110. It contains the following products:

  • The Cleansed Sulfate-Free Shampoo (8oz) $18

  • The Lavish 3-in-1 Leave-in Conditioner (8oz) $18

  • The Indulge Moisturizing Deep Conditioner (80z) $20

  • The Strengthen Protein Deep Conditioner (8oz) $20

  • The Quenched Hydrating & Twisting Butter (8.5 oz) $19

  • The Polished Hair & Scalp Oil (4oz) $15

First Impressions

My first impression of these products was the smell. Some of these products have a robust candy-like fragrance that I didn't mind, but it might bother you if you are sensitive to fragrance. The shampoo cleanses without stripping my hair which is always a win in my book. I could not detangle with this shampoo, but that's also not what shampoos are for.

Both the Moisturizing and Protein deep conditioner have good slip and penetrate my hair quickly without me needing to add heat. The Leave-in Conditioner is the product that has been used the most, besides the shampoo. I love how moisturizing this leave-in is as well as its slip.

The Hydrating and Twisting Butter wasn't as impressive for me. I used it first for a wash 'n go, and while the product is very moisturizing, it didn't have much hold. When I hear the word butter, my mind thinks that I don't need to use a gel because it will moisturize and define all at once.

I tried this product again with a twist out, and I loved how fluffy my hair felt, and with a gel, the style would've lasted longer than a couple of days. The hair oil is a simple concoction of fats, and it does an excellent job of sealing in moisture. My favorite part about this oil is that it didn't clog the pores on my forehead and cause my acne to flare up.

Overall Thoughts

I love the Miche Beauty brand, and some of the products I have used so far have exceeded my expectations. However, the amount of product you get for the price can be pretty steep. A little can go a long way if you have short or fine hair, but if your hair is super thick, I am not sure this will last you very long. The ingredients and the fact that this company is Black Owned make the price worth it. But I am someone willing to splurge for a bit of luxury.

If you are someone on a budget and need to know which products are worth it, I will tell you the LAVISH Leave-in Conditioner and the STRENGTHEN Protein/Moisture Balance  Deep Conditioner. I love a good leave-in, and since I have high porosity hair, I always search for a moisturizing one. The deep conditioner is a protein moisture balance, so I think that might be more beneficial since protein is an essential part of our hair structure.

If you still want to try everything in the collection, there are other options to pay, such as quadpay or afterpay. I use quadpay often to split my purchases into two. Quadpay does break your payments into four; I am just someone who doesn't like to have a balance lingering for too long.

If you have been thinking about trying Miche Beauty, I would recommend getting the bundle set. If you want to combine different products from different lines, that could be an excellent way to get familiar with her more recent style & define collection. She also has a bundle option that combines intense moisture and style products.

All in all, I think this brand is well worth the money. Not only are you supporting a Black business, but your hair is nine times out of 10 going to LOVE the ingredients. I think I’ll try the style & define products next.

Have you ever used Miche Beauty products? If not, tell me what products you’re excited to try in the comments.
