Beauty Advice from My Mother

My mom has always been beautiful. In fact, I am lucky enough to have two good-looking parents. I have always admired how wonderful my mother’s skin is. She has had flawless skin for as long as I could remember. I decided to ask her what beauty advice she had to share how she keeps it so beautiful and well maintained. This is what she had to say:

Beauty Starts Within

When you are a good person and treat others well, that makes you a beautiful person. This will give you an aura that will spread for others to see. When you have that aura around you, people will know that you are beautiful both inside and out.

A Simple Regimen

Different skin types require different regimens, but less is more. Too much of something is never a good thing, and therefore you should stick to the basics when it comes to your skincare. Of course, this can be applied to anything. All you really need is a cleanser, a toner, and a moisturizer. (My mom does not wear sunscreen)

Cocoa butter

I’ve always gotten compliments on my complexion, and my secret was cocoa butter. I don’t use it that often now, but I used it everywhere for a good portion of my life! It’s very moisturizing and helps even skin tone. I would patch test before using it on your face, especially if you have sensitive skin.

Preventative Measures

You will gradually get older, so you should do your due diligence when it comes to prevention. You need to take your work and life routine into consideration for skincare. Pay attention to what you are eating. How much are you eating? Are you getting your vitamins? Are you drinking enough water? Having a balanced diet can go a long way in making sure you stay “looking” young. Get a little bit of exercise. Adjust your routine to what works. If you know drinking milk gives you pimples put the milk down!

I am grateful my mom is still here to give me advice. She says that her beauty advice might be outdated, but it works. The old remedies always work. It is spirited by our ancestors. So, what beauty advice has your mom shared with you?
